The Big Dip

Checking Ebird confirmed my instinct; I had few opportunities of getting a good Fox Sparrow photo before they would be gone north for good.  I saw my first and only one about 2 weeks ago.  It was raining, and early and grey and overcast and overall terrible weather for a photoshoot, so I let it slide, figuring I'd find another later that day or the next.   So this weekend that was my target species.  And of course, I didn't get one.  But I did manage a few good birds nevertheless.

House Sparrow

Northern Shoveler

Same bird in the afternoon

Eastern Phoebe

American Wigeon

Dark-eyed Junco
